Orthodontics & Invisible Aligners
Orthodontics moves teeth into a better position with gentle, steady pressure. Invisible aligners are a series of clear, removable trays changed every one to two weeks; fixed braces use brackets and a wire and are adjusted by the dentist. Both straighten crowded or spaced teeth and improve how the upper and lower teeth meet.
Our contracted dental clinic in İstanbul treats adults and children with invisible aligners and fixed braces, and assesses children's developing bites to decide whether and when treatment is worthwhile. The plan is built on a digital scan that simulates the tooth movement from start to finish.
Because orthodontic treatment runs over months, the visits to İstanbul are planned around it: assessment and fitting on the first trip, with aligner changes done at home and progress checked remotely, and a later trip for finishing and retainers. Fixed braces need more in-person adjustments, which the dentist discusses with you before you choose.

What to expect
The four stages every international patient goes through with us.
- 01
Assessment and digital scan
Photographs, a panoramic X-ray and a digital scan of both arches. The software shows the planned movement step by step and the expected number of aligners or months in braces.
- 02
Fitting
For aligners, small tooth-coloured attachments are bonded and you receive the first sets with instructions on wear time. For fixed braces, the brackets and wire are placed in one session.
- 03
Treatment from home
You change aligners on the schedule given and send photographs at agreed intervals; the dentist checks progress remotely and adjusts the plan if needed. Braces are adjusted in person, either in İstanbul or, by arrangement, with a dentist near you.
- 04
Finishing and retainers
At the final visit the attachments or brackets are removed and any last refinements made. Retainers, fixed or removable, keep the teeth in place afterwards; wearing them as advised is what makes the result last.

Common questions
How often do I need to come back?
With aligners, usually once for fitting and once for finishing, with remote checks in between; a mid-course visit is added if refinements are needed. Fixed braces need adjustments every four to eight weeks, so they suit patients who can travel more often or be seen by a dentist at home.
Are aligners suitable for every case?
Not always. Aligners handle most crowding, spacing and mild bite problems well; complex bite corrections or teeth that need large movements may be better served by fixed braces. The scan and X-ray decide, and the dentist explains the choice.
Can adults have orthodontic treatment?
Yes, at any age, as long as the teeth and gums are healthy. Adult treatment may take a little longer than in teenagers, and gum health is checked first; aligners are the option most adults choose because they are discreet and removable.
