Dental Implants

About this service line

A dental implant is a small titanium post placed in the jawbone to take the place of a missing tooth root. Once the bone has bonded to it, a crown, a bridge or a full-arch prosthesis is fixed on top, so you can chew, speak and smile as you did with your own teeth. Implants are considered for a single missing tooth, for several missing teeth, and for people whose dentures no longer sit firmly.

Our contracted dental clinic in İstanbul places single implants, implant-supported bridges and implant-supported full-arch prostheses, and also provides conventional removable and fixed prostheses where an implant is not the right choice. Planning is done on 3D imaging so the implant sits in sound bone, away from nerves and sinuses.

As an international patient you send a recent panoramic X-ray or photographs first. The dentist reviews them and proposes a plan before you travel, including how many visits are needed and how long each one takes.

What to expect

The four stages every international patient goes through with us.

  1. 01

    Consultation and 3D imaging

A panoramic X-ray and, where needed, a cone-beam CT show the height and width of the bone. If you already have recent images, the dentist reviews them remotely and confirms whether anything needs repeating in İstanbul.

  2. 02

    Implant placement

Done under local anaesthesia, usually within an hour for a single implant. Where the bone allows, a temporary tooth can be fitted the same day so you do not leave with a gap.

  3. 03

    Healing at home

The bone bonds to the implant over two to six months. You go home in between; the clinic tells you what to watch for and stays reachable if anything feels wrong.

  4. 04

    Second visit: the final teeth

Impressions or a digital scan, then the crown, bridge or prosthesis is made and fitted over a few days. The bite is checked and adjusted before you fly home.

Common questions

Is implant treatment painful?

The placement itself is done under local anaesthesia and most people describe it as easier than expected. Some swelling and tenderness for a few days is normal and is managed with ordinary pain relief.

Can everything be done in one visit?

Usually not. The implant needs time to bond with the bone before the final teeth are fitted, so the standard path is two visits. In selected cases a temporary tooth is fitted at the first visit; the dentist tells you what is realistic for you after reviewing your images.

What if I do not have enough bone?

The 3D scan shows this before anything is planned. Where bone is thin, the dentist may propose building it up first or choosing a different implant position or prosthesis design; the options and the extra healing time are explained to you before you travel.

General information, not dental advice. Your treatment plan is set by the treating dentist after an examination.
